Banish Skincare Kit + Face masks | Your skin Saviors

Hi my loves,

Today I want you chat about my recent experience with skincare company Banish.

You all know I love my skincare and my ethos is that good makeup starts with good skin!
I always love a brand that I can really relate to and respect and Banish is exactly that.
Let me give you some background on the brand - Daisy is the name of the owner.
Daisy had suffered with bad skin since she was in the 3rd grade up till her early 20's and was on product after product after product; something I can really relate to.
Nobody ever believes me but I had BAD skin from 14-16 (and on and off till I was 18) and believe me I tried every possible topical cream available by prescription (all dried my skin out beyond compare and led to thinning of my skin I believe) and also oral antibiotics. The only thing I did not try is Roaccutane. Eventually through dermatologists and microdermabrasion ( and €1000 +) I managed to clear up my skin but I still get flare ups.
Her story really touched me, I'm going to link it here for you guys to read yourselves.
The reason why I'm telling you guys this background is because Daisy's story shows her passion and true & personal interest in skincare and brand - she knows exactly what she is talking about which means her products do what they promise to. All of the products are also cruelty free & Vegan friendly which is fantastic.

This is the Banish promise:

"At Banish, we work to get your skin back to its natural state by emphasizing the use of fresh natural ingredients.
Create product line that gets to the root of problems, not just to cover them up temporarily.
Use fresh natural ingredients, sourced from the West Coast of United States .
Focus on the internal rather than external"

*Little disclaimer before we start, I am aware I don't suffer from acne at the moment but I have my own skin issues such as fine lines, congestion in my forehead and blocked/enlarged pores around my nose and that is what I am using these products for.

The products from Banish that we are going to specifically talk about are the 'Banish Kit' and two masks; the Pumpkin Enzyme mask & the Activated Charcoal mask.

Let's start with the main baby, 'The Banish Kit'

In this kit you get:

 - A Banisher (I'll explain more in a second)
 - Banish Oil
- a cleaning container and storage bag.

The Banisher is the star of this kit for me - it is a micro-needler.

Micro-needling is fantastic for your skin and it's actually something a lot of people over look because they don't understand what it's about and they think it looks terrifying to be rolling mini needles over your face.
I promise you it does not hurt - it is literally a 0.25 out of 10 on a pain scale.
Micro-needling uses the skins ability to heal itself by puncturing the dermis level of the skin with the tiny needles - to help produce new collagen. This in turn helps to improve the skin's tone and texture to help it look revitalized and brighter, treat acne scars (and scars in general) and signs of aging (like fine lines). The products you apply after Micro-needling are also absorbed far deeper into the skin making them more effective which is why the Banish Oil in the kit is a perfect pairing.
It is recommended that you use the Banisher itself only once every two weeks so that is what I have been keeping to.

In relation to how you use the Banisher:

  • Before and after every use you must sterilise it to keep it clean and sanitary.
  • If you intend on using face masks, they must be used before you use the Banisher.
  •  You roll the device over your skin using light pressure 5 times in each direction. vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
  • Do not roll the Banisher over active pimples (if you have a lot of active pimples there is a smaller size 'banisher' you could try)
  • Your skin will be slightly red and might sting slightly after use but that is totally normal
  • Do not apply makeup or use exfoliating products until 8 hours after use. (I always use it at night time anyway)
  • Use sunscreen whilst using the Banisher as your skin will be more sensitive to the suns rays.

The Banish oil is a beautiful Vitamin C infused oil which will also help to fade acne scars and give you a brighter, more radiant complexion.

Vitamin C is used by the body to create collagen and elastin and as it is an antioxidant; it also helps to slow down aging. Other ingredients in this oil include Vitamin E (another antioxidant and a moisturiser) & Ferulic acid (again another antioxidant that also will help to stabilise and maintain the Vitamin C). This oil has no added preservatives (so its shelf life is 6 months) and it is made fresh to order.

These two combined have honestly provided better results than I could of even imagined - I noticed results after my first time using it; maybe 2 days after that. My skin just looked more plump and hydrated and healthier. Since my second time using the Banisher I have actually noticed a reduction my fine lines on my forehead (they were once expression lines that turned to lines that remained even after the expression) - and that to me is HUGE because I have tried every topical product on the market that promises to reduce and even correct fine lines and I have never found one that has worked. This is the first time I have ever seen a reduction in them and I am absolutely over the moon as they are something I am so conscious about.
I cannot recommend this kit enough. If you want to see customers who have acne and how they have gotten on using the Banish Kit, check out the website and see the results for yourself because they are amazing.

Next up is the mask: The Pumpkin Enzyme mask and the Activated Charcoal mask.

We will start with my favourite the Pumpkin Enzyme mask:

This is one most suited to my skin type and I absolutely adore it. As some of you may know, I have very sensitive skin and masks are something that I really struggle with finding one that works and doesn't give me an allergic reaction.
This one was perfect - I had no allergic reaction and I saw results once I washed the mask off and in the following days which is what I look for in a mask.
The Pumpkin Enzyme mask gently exfoliates your face to make it smooth and more evenly toned - it has no Chemicals, no Parabens and no Sulfates which is probably why my skin loves it - my skin HATES chemically products.

This mask is packed with:
  • Vitamin A (Drying out acne, promoting exfoliation, reduce the appearance of oily skin)
  • Vitamin C & Beta Carotene (Reverses and defends skin damage, reduces fine lines & wrinkles and improves elasticity)
  • A.H.As/Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Gets rid of dead skin cells, brightens skin, keeps your skin moisturised and takes the flakiness away from dry skin)
This mask looks and smells like Pumpkins which I LOVE and once you wash it off your skin will literally be glowing and will feel so unbelievably soft. Then over the next few hours/overnight etc. it works to get rid of spots. I am just obsessed. I have been using it twice a week for the past month now!

An absolute must if you suffer with oily, acne or blemish prone skin. You will adore this.
It comes in a powder form and you mix it up with water as you need.

Activated Charcoal works to:
  • Absorb impurities to deep clean both your skin and pores,
  • Reduce the look of large pores.
  • Absorb excess oils.
  • Reduce blemishes.
  • Softens skin.
I will warn you all; and this is in the case of every charcoal mask - Charcoal works to pull impurities up from the skin and this can sometimes lead to visible breakouts but they will clear and dry up very quickly as opposed to if you let them come to head themselves.
As I have dry skin and relatively clear skin apart from my t-zone area, I used this mask in conjunction with the Pumpkin enzyme mask twice a week but I focus this specific mask on just the t-zone area to clear out my pores and it works a treat on those pesky blackheads.

So there you have it my loves, I promised an depth review on these products.
I hope that you found this helpful if you wanted to know more about the brand and each individual product - if I had to pick a favourite it would definitely be the Banisher but the Pumpkin Enzyme mask is a very close second!

Let me know if you try Banish skincare out - they are doing a buy 3 get 1 free at the moment and they also have little discounts available if you sign up to their newsletter.

With Love from,
